Site of the martyrdom of St. Afra and burial place of Sts. Afra, Ulrich (the first canonized saint) and Simpert (778-807). More Information Official site Author’s Note Sts. Ulrich and Afra are buried in the crypt beneath the high altar. You can reach them with some steep stairs on either side of the high altar.
